Try to tell them your Base Station is Fried and you need a replacement or a new one. If they believe you things would move along rather quickly and you would almost be done, but they dont believe you and they have their 'Procedures' even if you have already talked to a CSR for 1 or 2 hours you get to start all over with their 'Procedures'.
So instead of just taking you at your word that its fried they would rather spend an hour or more of your time to play with batteries and a pairing button, but none of it works because its fried. did I mention its fried.
Seems like your not hearing me, Its not lighting up, it does nothing, has new batteries. I am 100% sure its fried,. why would i lie about it being fried, i dont need a 2nd Base Station,.
but I might as a back up since these love to fry when they try to do a wireless download for whatever reason. I have given up on Customer Service after my Ebay Base Station arrives I will see if i can set it up easily..
Shoulndt be a problem as long as it lights up when i plug it in., I know it works,,. DUH!

Preferred solution: a replacement base station since their wireless download, that everyone says i didnt need, but my keypad says it did,, ended up frying the base station after 5 hours of a supposed download,. 5 hours? It says it should have taken up to an hour at most.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product replacement. SimpliSafe replaced my defective camera, but they made the process hellish.
I did not receive an apology, nor did I receive a discount for the grief they gave me. I'm canceling the monthly monitoring service..
The Customer Service agent who promised to call me back never did so. I finally called SimpliSafe back to find out the status of my replacement. It turned out the neither the tech support rep, nor the first customer service rep I spoke with did anything to try to...
The sixth camera, and indoor model SSCM2, can't read the QR code. I tried several times across several months, using different USB cables and wall adapters from my functioning cameras.

I called tech support and walked through all steps again without success, but they wouldn't issue an RMA. I called customer support to voice my frustration and ask for a replacement. CS put me on hold for 7 to 10 minutes to "verify some details." The CS rep came back on, asked for the model & serial numbers, then put me on hold for another 5 minutes.
The rep came on again and told me it was going to take her another 20 to 30 minutes to finish verifying something, and they'll call me back with the replacement instructions. What can they possibly need to verify? I'm a paying customer in good standing. As of this writing, I shave not received a callback or an RMA.
This is absolutely unacceptable technical and customer service.

The Customer Service agent who promised to call me back never did so. I finally called SimpliSafe back to find out the status of my replacement. It turned out the neither the tech support rep, nor the first customer service rep I spoke with did anything to try to generate a return to me. They logged my calls, but never took a single action or made any attempt to resolve my request.

The second customer service rep I spoke with did create a product replacement order for me, provided a return shipping label, and was apologetic about the treatment I received from the first two people.
I haven't received my replacement, yet, but she explained it would take 3 - 5 days.
I received a confirmation number for the replacement, so I believe I will receive it

I do not consider this issue resolved. I still expect a written apology from the management at SimpliSafe, as well as free monthly service for 6 months, to compensate me for my time, frustration, and poor treatment from SimpliSafe technical and customer support representatives.

Preferred solution: New replacement SSCM2 camera from the factory, NOT a refurbished unit. 6 months free service for the frustration I experienced dealing with their terrible RMA process. A verbal apology. A written apology.
